About The Area

Located in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs is Kensington. This is where is the University of New South Wales is, along with the National Institute of Dramatic Art. While wandering around on the University of New South Wales campus, you can find a variety of places to stop by.

There are bars, cafes, and restaurants galore! You practically don’t even need to leave the campus and wander into Kensington to find something delectable to eat. Coco Cubano is easy to spot, right on High Street, and is the perfect place for students (or really anyone) to get a bite to eat and unwind.

The University of New South Wales is crazy big, with over 50,000 students! So sometimes, getting out of the campus and exploring other areas can be a good thing. It’s easy to travel around Sydney by going down to Anzac Parade where all of the buses usually run.

You’ll find that along this road, there is also a string of shops, cafes, and restaurants, where many of the main shopping and eating is done in Kensington (apart from the university campus).

A very well-known store on Anzac Parade is “Peters of Kensington,” so check it out if you’ve got the chance.

If you desire to move away from the commercial areas of the suburb for a bit, check out the largest park in Kensington, Kensington Park. There are also fives other parks within the suburb, and not too far away is Centennial Park, which is a massive urban park that reveals some beautiful ponds and wetlands.

Take your time to enjoy the pleasures of Kensington, and don’t forget to stop at one of its premier establishments on the campus of University of New South Wales, Coco Cubano!
